A significant way you can contribute to our church community is by volunteering. We have many church committees, social justice projects, and lay leader positions. Your support and expertise are a true gift to us all. Please find below a list of our current needs. For more information, please contact Director of Administration Alyssa Bellew.

Sunday and Church Event Volunteer Positions

  • Neighborhood Marketplace Volunteer
    Description: Assist selling Fair Trade products, sermon CD's, and books in Neighborhood Market. We are currently only able to offer these resources between services, but hope to expand with additional volunteer assistance.
    Resources/Time: A smile and willingness to assist from approximately 10:30-11:30 a.m., one Sunday per month; plus an occasional after-service meetings.
    Skill Level: Cash handling; On-the-job training available

  • Ushers
    Description: Help hand out and collect hymnals and Orders of Service, assist with seating (if necessary), collect offering, record attendance.
    Resources/Time: A smile and willingness to assist one Sunday per month. Needed for both the 1st and 2nd service.
    Skill Level: Some cash handling; On-the-job training available

Ongoing Volunteer Projects

  • Church Office Volunteer - Bulk Mail
    Description: Newsletter mailing: weigh, calculate postage, label, and take bulk mail to post office.
    Resources/Time: 1-2 hours every other Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Must commit to at least 3 months.
    Skill Level: Moderate

  • Accounting Support
    Description: Perform low difficulty level accounting support functions, like sorting, stamping, copying, & mailing checks, taking the weekly deposit to the bank, filing accounting documents and other general office support tasks as needed. Must possess general knowledge of office equipment and be accurate, trustworthy, confidential, and dependable.
    Resources/Time: 3-6 hours on Tuesdays. Must commit to at least 3 months.
    Skill Level: Moderate

  • Communications Production Support
    Description: assist with weekly Order of Service copying, folding, stuffing in addition to monthly newsletter production assistance and other general office support tasks particularly related to Sunday worship and RE. Must possess general knowledge of office equipment and computer applications, be accurate, and dependable.
    Resources/Time: Thursday afternoons. Must commit to at least 3 months.
    Skill Level: Moderate

  • UU World Magazine Support
    Description: Submit new and updated member info to the UU World Magazine website (mundane work, not for those who bore easily). Must possess general computer and internet knowledge, be accurate, and dependable.
    Resources/Time: Weekly, 1 day per week, 2-4 hours any time or day.
    Skill Level: Moderate
